LASERGRAIN has been developed and manufactured in NZ for NZ conditions by Kings Fourth Generation Woodworking Company. (Patent pending No.PCT/1B2004/002950)
CONFIGURATION. The Lasergrain configurations shown in the diagrams are the optimum arrangement. Design variations will be considered on an individual basis.
TIMBER SPECIES. These have been carefully selected as a result of testing for Lasergrain use and to provide a wide range of grain types and colours to suit individual interiors.
LIGHTING. Light is an important component of Lasergrain and must be considered in conjunction with the design. Light can be natural, as for entrance doors, stairs etc, or ambient for stairs and doors, or directional to light a Lasergrain feature. LED lights can be effective behind backlit panels.
FINISHES. Clear acrylic finishes are applied to all Lasergrain components according to the particular application. Satin gloss and polished finishes are available.
USES. This website covers only the products that we can build at the moment. As time goes on the range of Lasergrain applications will increase.
INSTALLATION. Full installation instructions are provided with each product. The weight of the components must be taken into account.
EXPOSURE. Lasergrain tests have been conducted for exterior situations. However Lasergrain is essentially an interior product. Entrance doors must be in sheltered situations away from UV and weather effects.
LASERGRAIN CABINET DOORS & PANELS
Sizes: Each job is set out individually so lamination sizes will vary slight.
Species: Lasergrain doors and panels are available in the following species: Matai, Heart Rimu, USA Maple, USA Black Walnut, European Beech, Jarrah and Wenge. Others are available on request.
Aluminium Frames: These are available with doors as an optional extra.
Light Boxes: Back-lit fascia panels require a 130mm wide void behind for an even light spread. These ‘light boxes’ are available with fascia panels including LED lights if needed.
Lighting: Best results are obtained using even or graded backlighting by reflection off an enclosed white board backing or the cabinet interior.
Heat: Halogen, fluorescent and incandescent lighting emits heat, which may damage Lasergrain doors and panels. Enclosed cabinets need to be ventilated.
LED Lighting: We can supply LED (Light Emitting Diodes) lighting looms for all cabinet applications. These are available in selected colours. LED lights are low voltage, low energy, cold, safe, last 70,000 hours with no UV or infrared light and are simple to install.
Finish: All Lasergrain doors and panel items are finished in a natural satin acrylic finish. Staining of the timber is not possible.
Weight: Lasergrain components are up to 20% heavier than solid timber so extra hinging or support may be needed.
